Valles is the Martian geothermal district associated with Paul’s engineering work.

Setting
The district connects the family history seen in 39 Minutes with the plant and habitat network at the centre of The Divide. This guide uses the novel’s named locations without assigning invented coordinates or distances.

In the book
The opening chapters establish the Valles network; Chapter 5 introduces the habitat representatives.

District and workplace
The district page and the plant page serve different purposes. Valles locates Paul’s professional world within the Martian setting; the plant entry introduces the workplace and its relationship to the habitats.

The three habitat pages make that connection easier to follow. Olympus Prime, Renticuluous Alpha and Volallies Beta each bring a different demand to a shared heat network.
