[edit]Health across boundaries
[edit]For someone travelling between Mars and Earth, environment is a physical experience as well as a destination. Gravity, unfamiliar biological conditions and the demands of field work give medical expertise an everyday place in the story.
Elena’s attention to evidence connects her work with John’s engineering, while her patients give her a different measure of what counts as an urgent problem. See the Reader glossary for the setting’s use of containment and reclamation.
