From standards to households

Operating standards connect a technical decision with people who may never enter the plant. Reports, inspection findings and shift responsibilities provide ways for that decision to be checked by someone else.

The Divide places this institutional scale beside the smaller scale of a household. The distinction between enough heat in reserve and enough warmth in a room makes the relationship between them concrete.
